KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, Thermador, Dacor or JennAir fridge — all of which use Whirlpool control board with part number 2220398, W10219463, AP4411082, 2307028, W10185291, 2307005, 2303934, 2252111, or 2223443 (depending on the brand).

How do i know my control board has failed (or is failing)?

If your fridge is working but is showing two or more of these symptons, then it's most likely the control board has failed or is on the verge of failing.

Symptoms:

  • Temperature control panel inside of the fridge is flickering, acting erratically and not accepting the temperature you set.
  • Evaporator fan cutting in and out.
  • Overheating of the strip between the two doors on the side-by-side models
  • Condensor fan not running when the compressor is on.

Why Whirlpool no longer makes the control boards

In an open letter, they state :

THIS CLASS CODE 91 LETTER IS FOR CONTROL BOARD W10219463 REPLACEMENT FOR KITCHEN AID, JENN AIR, THERMADOR, DACOR, & KENMORE BUILT IN REFRIGERATOR UNITS. THIS PART IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. DUE TO THE FAILED ACU BOARD W10219463 AND THE COMPLEXITY OF THE CONTROL BOARDS FUNCTION THE ONLY RESOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE CONTROL ASSEMBLY WITH A SERVICE KIT. ANY PRODUCT REQUIRING THIS BOARD WILL NEED TO ORDER ONE OF THE SERVICE KITS ACCORDING TO MODEL NUMBER.
